Do we love God? There is a way to find out!

In the recent past, I had become concerned about how we can express sincerely to God that we love Him. How do we show that our love for Him is real. One morning I couldn’t get this off of my mind. I was in the shower and I thought, “well it’s right there in the Bible! God’s Word tells us how to know that our love is sincere!”

“If we love God, we keep His commandments”. John 14:15. Obedience is the fruit that bears out of love for God.

What are His commandments? Are there only 10? Actually, no, there are…..12 commandments! Read this excerpt from Matthew 22 vs 35-40;

35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

In John 13:34 we also read: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another”.

In Deuteronomy 30:16 it is stated boldly to Israel in this way: “In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it”.

How can we be commanded to love? By keeping the commandments of the Father, and the Son, which total 12 and not 10!

Now compare everything I have just mentioned to this excerpt from 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, “it profiteth me nothing”.

Charity = love in the context of this verse, not a tax deductible donation. God wants our hearts, our love, not our money or any vain thing, and even though we be identified as His believers (Mark 16:17), speaking in tongues, prophesying, knowledge of scriptures, if we do not give the heart to God and each other, “it profiteth me nothing”.

By the way, the 4th commandment hasn’t been excluded from our love relationship with God. This commandment written by the finger of the Most High God was never abolished from the law. The only commandment that begins with “Remember”, has been forgotten. I highly recommend watching the “Mystery Babylon Series” of videos to better understand how the Sabbath has been erased by not understanding history. It was not erased by the Crucifixion! He makes it so easy to express that we love Him, just follow His simple rules!

A video is coming soon that explains more than these 12 commandments in relation to spiritual warfare. There are many “abominations” and expectations of believers, but the yoke is not heavy, and the burden is light! Subscribe and stay informed!
